Question

I have a outlet under my sink to plug in my garbage disposal. It runs off a switch above the counter. There is an outlet next to the switch. I want to split the outlet below the sink to have one constant power.

hello chuck,
if power is brought into the outlet under sink this is easy. remove switch and if there is a white and black tied to switch then power is in outlet. what u need to do is break tab on outlets hot side (gold screw) pigtail the hot in box(black that has white wire tied to and put this pig tail on other screw on outlet. if power is in switch then u will need to pull 3 wire to the outlet, in switch hook the red to switch black to the hot and white to nutural in outlet break hot tab hook red to 1gold screw and black to other and nutural to silver screw.
