how to rewire water pump 3/4hp from 110v to 220v. thanks!

 

hello linda,
some motors can be wired 4 120 or 240 volts if your motor can be wired both ways the motor will have a wireing diagram under the cover where the wires go in or on motor tag its self telling u what terminals to attach wires 2 for what voltage. u will also need to do some wireing in your panel. follow these steps and you will be in business;
1. buy a 20 amp 2 pole breaker that fits your panel
2. turn off MAIN breaker (lugs on main will still be hot so dont touch)
3. remove panel cover
4. remove single pole breaker for pump
5. remove the white wire from nutural bar that is in same cabel as hot u removed from breaker
6. install 20 amp 2 pole breaker in off position
7. connect black and white wires to breaker
8. replaice panel cover
9. wire motor per instructions on motor
10. turn on breaker
