Question Touch Lamps

In our bedroom we have 2 touch lamps, one on each night stand. The other night I was laying in bed and they both turned on at the same time by themselves! I have done some wiring in my basement (none recently) but I went thru the control panel and other areas and couldn't find any loose wiring or anything that looked suspicious. I had a differnet touch lamp on a different circuit than the 2 in the bedroom in the kids room and they said they saw it blink on and off a couple different times but I wasn't convinced of there story but now am concerned there may be a problem. Anything I can look for or ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

If you are really concerned, replace the touch switch modules
with mechanical switches.

Wink

I have had the same experience with a neighbor's house, there shouldn't be anything relating the lamps on-off annoyance with your wiring changes.

I had a similar problem twice. The first time, it was due to the touch lamps being on the same circuit as the outdoor spotlight that was controlled by a motion sensor. When I replaced the motion sensor, the problem never reoccurred. The second time, it was due to the power utility (in my locale, it is Pacific Gas and Electric). When there was a variation in the incoming power (due to a power outage in a nearby grid), the wall touch switch/variable control caused the light to brighten and dim continuously until I shut off the power to the switch and then turned it back on. No problems after that.
