Almost any large hardware store or auto parts store will have them in stock or can order one in for you.

sberry27, what are you getting at? Do you really want such a compressor, or are you just trying to make fun of somebody? Did somebody in a post on another thread refer to such a compressor? It sounds like you already knew the answer to your question.

I was just curious how the manafacturers ever got away with rating equipment like that. It is certainly misleading next to an outright lie for advertising sake. I certainly would like to see more light shed on realistic ratings. I tend to tell friends that almost any tool or appliance they can plug in the wall will have about a horse and a 1/4,, aprox. The NEC is very meticulous about wiring codes,,, who lets this slide by? UL maybe?

Claims,,??? Have you walked thru home depot or sears,,, every shop vac is 5 hp,, just like the guy said,,, 5 hp air compressor,,, I seen a weed wacker, electric the other day,, 2 1/2 hp I realize they let them rate that stuff locked rotor,,, but it is really deceptive none the less.

Some of the motors especially the series AC motors youd find in drills and weedeaters can make horsepower mathematically through more RPM.

The "inflation" of horsepower values by appliance manufactures is the reason that Exception #3 to 430.6(A)(1) exists.
