circuit breaker
#1

I blew a fuse at the breaker box and I'm sure it sounds ridiculous but I can't get the breaker to reset. There are at least 10 other breakers and they will all reset but not this particular one. What is the problem?
Thank you in advance for any help you could throw my way.

If the breaker has been in service for a long time, it may well be the breaker, itself, that is bad. An older breaker taking a sudden surge (large enough to trip) may well have ended its life. If you have resolved the short circuit that caused the problem, suggest you replace the breaker with a new unit.

hello jddaley,
sounds like u have a direct short, bad breaker, or just an overloaded circuit. try turning the breaker off and then back on if the handel will not stay in the on position unplug every thing on the circuit and c if it holds, if it still trips remove the wire from the breaker and c if it holds , if it still will not hold replace the breaker, u could replace the breaker first if the breaker is old. if un replace the breaker and the new 1 will not hold call an electrician since it is more then likley a short in the circuit.
