My gas heater was replaced. I kept the motor from the old blower. I want to use the motor to power a belt sander. The sander was bought without a motor at a flea market.

My blower motor has 4 wires - white, black, green and red. I assume that white is neutral, green is ground, black is hot. Is red hot, too? How would this be wired to a simple switch for 110vac?

Thanks!

It is a two speed motor, probably 1125 and 1725 RPM. Try either red or black to line,
to see which is the faster one, which you
need for your sander.
