installing new ceiling light

I purchased a new hallway ceiling light, and there's a warning tag on it that says the "most homes built before 1985 have a wiring rating of 60 degree C. This lamp requires 90 degrees C wiring." My house was built in 1979. Is there a way to test the wiring to make sure it will work for this lamp? Any help is appreciated!
