Unhappy

Help. I was installing a dimmer switch on my screen porch light switch (w/out shutting off the breaker - terrible, I know). I touched two wires together and the power in that circuit went out. There are 3 receptacles on this line, plus the porch light switch. The breaker is not tripped and I've flipped all breakers off and then on to no avail. What should I look for next? I don't see a GFCI outlet. Please help!!

hello VirginiaDelle,
your first and worst mistake was working on a live circuit, im an electrician and if possabel i turn off the circuits. from now on please turn off the power to the circuit befor working on it. since this is on a screened porch im willing to bet there is a gfci some where in the circuit, most common places r bathrrom, kitchen, garage, outside, but they may be found any where, push the reset on all gfcis till u find it.
