Question

Is a GFI and a GFCI the same thing? Should I use a 15 amp or a 20 amp GFCI for a 1.5 HP above ground pool pump? If I have an existing GFI on the left side of my patio and I need one on the right side of my patio, can I split the line in the basement and go to both. If this isn't OK, can I simply disconnect the existing GFI and hook up my new GFCI using the same line?

Install a 20A one, and install it on it's own
circuit.
