Electrical Connection

I am attempting to connect an inline switch controlled plug made by Eagle. I do not want the power to the rest of the system to stop when I flip the switch, only at the plug. On the recepticle I have a silver screw & brass screw on one side while on the other side just two screws without a color. I am removing a double plug recepticle. The wires exposed are nothing more than a black & white w/ground, cut to connect to the top plug. The tabs were left in to continue the power to the lower plug and the wires were reconnected to continue the power to the next recepticle.

You will need to wire nut you wires separate from the receptacle then install a pigtail to the receptacle for your white and bare. Then install a pigtail hot [black] wire to the inline switch then from the inline switch to the brass screw of the receptacle. This way the rest of hte receptacles and other loads are unaffected by the inline switch.

Hope this helps
