Post HVAC Programmable Thermostat

I will like to replace my mechanical thermostat with programmable thermostat. My heatpump is built by Bryant. Please recommend the type and where one can get this unit. Also give me some name of contractors that do this kind of work. What are the best temperature ranges to set the heatpump for cooling in summer and for heating in winter to adequately save money on electricity?
My basement tend to be very cold in winter that I have to supplement wood burning to warm the house. I will like to install
attic fan to reduce the heat in the house in summer. I will like some recommendations on the best attic fan in the market and contractors for doing the work.
