Question Lightswitch aid for tots

Do you know where I can buy a device that my toddler can use to turn on/off lights? What are thy called? I thought about installing an occupany sensor (motion to turn on lights and auto off with an override switch for bedtime). Spouse thinks this bad idea because tots won't learn from this. Advice/suggestions? Need for bedroom and bathroom.

It has been forever, and I don't know where it came from. Maybe Lillian Vernon, or one of those types of catalogs. It fir over, or maybe replaced, a switchplate, and have something like a yardstick with a slot cut out of it that fit over the switch. You could push/pull it up and down to control the light from well below switch level. There might be something like it in a dollar store, or someplace like that, too. I do remember it being pretty handy.

I don't know if thats a good idea or not. This is just my opinion of course.

But, I think perhaps if kids can't reach the lightswitch... they shouldn't reach the lightswitch yet. Then again, my mom always nagged me for never turning out the lights... maybe I just needed an early start?
