123 Lamp Socket Wiring

Question

Making a table lamp using a 123 lamp socket (The type that lights a nite lite and the main bulb) & can't seem to wire it properly. What is the correct way? TIA

Check and see what screw terminal connects
to the shell of the socket, that is the neutral, and will connect to the ribbed wire
of the linecord, of which the shell of the
bulb in the base connects to also (but not under the same screw on the socket).

One of the other screws connects to line,
or the socket in the base. Whichever one
you connect the which wire to will decide
the switching order.
