How best to rack tools

I have just built my first workshop - now I need to rack all my handtools for ease of access, ease of display, ease of finding the right tool when needed. The racking system also needs to be flexible so that new tools can be added. Any suggestions or web sites details such racking systems would be gratefully received. Many thanks

Might start by subscribing to Shop Notes (an August Home publication). They frequently have articles on the subject in addition to tips, tool comparisons, small projects, and jigs & fixtures.

for an easy and fairly inexpensive solution -- peg-boards are nice! i've just got a small section in my workshop, and it's really great . . . all kinds of hooks and crap to put on there.

I love my pegboard wall, I even traced my tools once I put them on the pegboard, and it is obvious when a tool is missing! I keep a clipboard, an note when I lend a tool, so when a tool is missing I go back to the clipboard in case I forget whom I lent it too and on what date.

One addition to the pegboard suggestion.
Get WHITE 1/4 board, it will keep the shop area brighter.
