10" or 12" Miter Saw - Sliding?

I need to purchase a miter saw for molding work. I would like to be able to use for other projects down the line. Any suggestions or considerations in deciding on 10" v. 12" ? Also, sliding is significantly more expensive, does it add enough versitility to justify for casual user?

Thanks.

Well ill toss my .02 in. I have a craftsman 10". its alrite. 12" is a good bit more expensive, as are the blades. I havent had any problems with it, and i use it a good bit. THe great thing about either saw is you can cut 4x4 posts easy as pie with them. No more two sided circular sawing for me . However after I bought this fine sears product they made the laser track guide one. Well i sure wish i had waited a week! that would be very helpful. I dont know what youd need to cut that you couldnt do on a 10" as far as trim work goes. Itll handle a 2x6 @ 90. If you work with very large pieces go for the 12. Otherwise its probably overkill.-Josh
