Air Compressor

My Ingersoll-Rand Bench air compressor has stopped
working. It seems to run okay. It creates very little
preasure though.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks
William

If it is a diaphram type compressor, I would suspect a crack in the diaphram.

Mabye a broken reed valve in the head. It works like a check valve and it can be replaced.

The compressor is Ingersoll-Rand portatble/bench (piston type).
The problem is in fact a broken reed valve in the head.
Thanks for the diagnosis!

Where can i find this part?

Thanks again for the help!

Just about anywhere actually. If you go to Sears.com and plug in the model #, they may have a breakdown there with the part #. In turn, you can shop around for that part #.

Alternatively, you can contact Ingersoll Rand and ask them. I believe the URL is www.irco.com. If not, go to www.google.com and type in "Ingersoll Rand Compressor parts". You'll find more sources than you need. LOL.
