bench jointers

looking at getting a new bench jointer. The delta is the most popular. Cost is about 200 at lowes. I seen a rand in ebay and it has more rpm speed than the delta. Any remarks on these two or another one. Looking to buy this week. Thanks. coach.

Does anyone know where to get a rand jointer?

Never heard of a "rand" power tool of any type unless it refers to Ingersol Rand.

My feeling is that you would likely have this tool for a very long time and would be better off purchasing one that would be easy to get parts and supplies for.
For instance if used alot you will be surely buying many blades for it.

A faster cutter speed may not necessarily be a good thing.
It will make a smoother cut by running fast but possibly at the expense of burning.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my 20 year old and abused Delta table saw and will be replacing the drive pulley.
I'm researching the best speed to spin the blade at and burning is a byproduct of saw blade speed as well.
I havn't found any good info on saw blade speed yet, but if I find anything that pertains to planers I'll post it here.
