Can I use 7" blade on 7 1/4" Circular Saw

I recently bought the Dewalt DW359 7-1/4" circular saw and I?m planning to use it to cut granite tile. I came across a recommendation on the Web to use either a segmented or turbo-cut diamond blade to cut granite. I looked around and the closest I found were 7? blades. Would they work on my 7-1/4? circular saw!

Thanks in advance.

The smaller blade will work fine. Often specialty blades are smaller diameter to keep the tip speed down. It is good that you were attentive and did not try to use one too large.

Hope this helps.

If you take the guard off, you could probably use an 8" blade. Why would you do this? To make compound cuts (primarily for a hip roof), the guard is really in the way and sometimes an 8" blade is needed for the extra cutting depth.
