Question Porter Cable or Stanley Bostich Roofing Nailer?

I can get either the Porter Cable RN175 or the Stanley Bostich RN45B-1 for about the same price new ($225-$230) and was wondering what the pros/cons were between the two. I'm planning on re-roofing my house (2500 sqft of shingles) and need a recommendation. I will also be re-siding soon as well, so the ability of either to do that job will be a consideration. I've have an 18AWG Bostich Finish Nailer and it jambs much more often than my Porter Cable 16 AWG Finish Nailer, so I'm leaning towards the Porter Cable. What are everyone's opinions on this?

I don't think a roofing nailer would be suitable for any type of siding. Certainly, Bostitch has been in the pneumatic nailer business longer but I don't think that makes them better. Like you, I also have an 18 gauge Bostitch and 16 gauge Porter Cable finish (brad) nailers. I think the brads you use have more to do with jamming than anything else. I've not noticed a problem with either of mine. Both brands are very respectable, IMHO.
