Question Aspheric Magnifying Glasses

I bought several different types and styles of magnifying glasses at an auction today. One case is "aspheric" type magnifiers. What is an aspheric magnifier?

An aspheric lens is a lens that is not completely spherical in curvature in order to minimize or eliminate error created by the bending of the light coming through the lens. A conventional magnifying lens has it's sharpest focal point in the center. The farther from the center you go, the more error you get. The aspheric lens corrects for this.
