1 ton arbor press

has anyone here bought/used a harbor freight arbor press? do they work well? The snap on press is 3X the price, and looks relatively the same. Are arbor presses fairly "it works, or it doesnt" tools? Need one to press some bearings. Thanks-Josh

Smile My tool buying beliefs.

If you are going to use the press on a regular basis or use it to make a living then you won't be sorry if you buy high quality tools.
However if it is for occasional hobby use then buying the less expensive one is the way to go.
You could buy several different tools for the price of the Snap-On.

I own the AHF arbor press. In my opinion, all brands 'work'. The difference is in the ease of use (adjustments, quick set bolts, etc) and assortment of jigs that they offer.
For home repairs, AHF is fine. For professional use, (frequent use) then a brand name may be more suitable as time is money.
