Cut a padlock

Just bought a pait of H.K. Porter 24 in. Bolt Cutter

Will I have a problem cutting a Bell padlock with them?

I have a 36" cutter. It will go through most 5/16" locks like butter, a 3/8" you have to apply a fair bit of force. I've never tried a 1/2" lock.
A half inch grade 5 bolt is easy and I've never tried a grade 8.

Yours being a 24" would cut slightly less than mine.

It measured an inch around the bolt. Is that how you measure it?

The measurement of a lock is by the diameter of the shackle or the round part that goes through the hasp or chain or cable you are securing.

That's assuming it's this kind of lock:


Describe in detail what you have.
