Unhappy Jammed blade clamp on Tiger Saw

Recently bought a Porter Cable Model 735 Tiger Saw. Was cutting a branch off a large juniper root ball. Apparently the 9" blade hit the ground several times while I was sawing, & it pushed the Quik-Change blade clamp back into the saw housing. Is there a way to get the clamp back out, or will I need to take the saw to a dealer for repair? This is only the 2nd time I have used the saw.

According to the owner's manual

http://media.ptg-online.com/20030407...- 04-09-03.pdf

you should be able to move the clamp forward so that it extends from the housing exposing the clamp. The manual says to plug the saw in and briefly pull the trigger to get the clamp to move forward. Then unplug it to work on it.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

You're right. A friend came over and immediately turned it on and made the clamp come out. I was afraid to turn it on because I thought I might break something.

I feel like such a ditz!

There is nothing wrong with being cautious and protecting your investment in your tools as well as avoiding injury doing that which you don't understand.
