Delta Planers

I have a small Delta planer, model 22-540 (12"). The gears that drive the cutting head are worn and need replacement. I have taken the gearbox apart and found the worn gears. The one gear that apears pressed into and drives the cutting head is badly worn and needs relacing as well. The problem I have run into is that I can't seem to remove this gear from the cutting head. In the blow up diagram I have downloaded, it appears that this gear is removable, yet I can't get it to budge. Anyone else had success removing it? Thanks for any advice.

The gear could be a press fit. If it is you would have to use a puller that would give a straight smooth pull.
The Delta repair depot, where you would get replacement parts should be able to help you out.
