LED flashlight battery life.

I just purchased the new Lisle ultra thin pencil LED flashlight for $20 , similar to the bright LED penlights that many auto mechanics use. However, mine uses two commonly available keychain-remote type batteries (ya know, to unlock your car remotely) instead of the impossible-to-find AAAA batteries. (Thats right, AAAA, not AAA) My question is this. Will this light really last for years with those itty bitty tiny car remote batteries?

Hard to believe that that much light, takes so little power to generate. Also hard to believe that they are acutally LED's, since they are so bright.

Lugnut:

I too just purchased an led light for $12.00 CDN.

I've carried a 2-AA Maglight on my belt for many years. We'll see if the claims of 10X battery life are true.

LED info.

Edit: OOPS! Bad link fixed.

Found this cool adapter for Mag Lights:

Hi Greg,

If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase that light for $12 in Canada? I'm in Toronto, and an absolute sucker for LEDs...

Thanks,

Joseph"

Joseph:
I purchased the light at Home Hardware.

I like the mag light adaptor and since I've got about a half dozen mag lights I'll have to give that a try.

Thanks for the reply re the LED light, Greg...All the Home Hardware locations in Toronto seem to be closing, from what I see and hear, but I'll give it a shot. I'd also like to warn mattison that the Maglite adapter is not a GREAT product, just adequate. Something about the light that, as the kids would say, just aint right...

Joseph
