sawsall leaking grease

I just started to notice grease spilling out above the blade from my Porter Cable sawsall. Is this something I can fix myself?

Probably nothing that you are going to fix yourself. If it's under warranty, find out who in your are does repairs for Porter Cable. If it's NOT under warranty, find out who does PC repairs and get and estimate. THEN decide whether to fix it or throw it away and buy a new one.

Good advice from lefty.

I had a small amount of grease escape from a new Milwaukee Sawzall some time ago.
The warranty repair depot told me that this occasionally happened if the gearbox was overfilled at the factory. It soon stopped as they said it would and has been good since.

Trying to fix this yourself would depend on how good you are at making a lot of small parts and springs go back in their original locations.
