looking for a hammer drill

I'm looking for a hammer drill to do some remodeling to a basement. I'm trying to decide on a 3/8 or 1/2 drill. The 3/8 is cheaper and I'm reasonably sure it will handle my drilling use in the basement for fasteners but I want some other opinions. Thanks for any advice.

I have a 3/8 hammer drill. It works well on masonry: brick, mortar, and cinderblock. Too much drilling of a slab is beyond its scope, and warrants a 1/2 drill.

Be sure to follow hearing protection, laceration prevention, electrocution protection, respiratory protection, and safe clothing and equipment recommendations when using this tool.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I picked up a Milwaukee 5397-6 hammer drill today, 3/8". It says it has a 5amp motor so I'm thinking this should be enough power to use some hole saws and spade bits as well. If I'm wrong in my thinking, somebody please let me know. Again, thanks for any help.
