Spindle sanders

I've been toying with the idea of buying a oscillating spindle sander and make a point of taking a gander at them whenever I'm in a tool store. I'm interested in what kind you folks have and how you like them.

I need to cut some plugs flush with an oak board. I've seen those thin saws in woodworking stores; I think they're called Japanese saws or something like that. Do these work without scratching the wood you lay it against?Read More
