Band Saw Repair Craftsman
I have a 12" Craftsman bandsaw that is at least 40 years old. Hard to believe but a few of the parts are wearing, mainly a lower shaft and bearings. Craftsman tells me that there are no longer parts available for it.
Does anyone know of a source that might sell parts for old, but well built tools?
Thanks.

If craftsman says there are no parts for it then you might not be able to get parts for it. I think your last hope might be to find an old bandsaw with the same model no. and salvage it. What parts are you exactly needing ?

im sorry i just noticed you said a lower shaft and bearings. The bearing can probably be found at a industrial supply or auto supply if you can show them one. The shaft depending on how complex it is you might be a good machinist to build you one but thats gonna cost you.

That's the first time I've ever heard of Craftsman not having parts for one of their machines, but 40 years is a long time. I recently got some parts for my Craftsman router bought in 1974.
If you're determined to save it, a good machine shop may be able to fabricate something for you.

Mr. Fixer:
Craftsman does not make a single tool themselves.
Post the exact model number and we can start digging to find out who made it.
