Gluing pad back onto orbital sander?

The fabric "pad" on my orbital sander has come loose. The bottom of the sander is metal. The original adhesive coats the face of the fabric pad (not adhered to the metal surface). What type of adhesive should I use to reattach the pad?

I would be inclined to check the manufacturer's website to see if there is anything specific to address this. Trying to remount something subject to that much strain might be better addressed by replacing the part.

I used contact cement to re-glue the pad on my air sander.

Try a bit on a corner of the pad to make sure it doesn't react or melt it.

Yup, I used contact cement on mine as well. Worked fine.
