Question laser level accuracy

I recieved a cheap laser level for Christmas, even the bubbles aren't accurate. How do I check the laser for accuracy? I want to shim the level so I can at least use the laser. It has a laser pinpoint and a laser line.
Seems like a waste to junk it.

Thanks.

It sounds like I have the same cheap laser level.

I used a makeshift water level to verify the laser was level. Took some clear tubing, pinned it up on the wall with the ends about 8' apart and filled it with water. Then i just ran the laser line across to see if I could get a straight line in sync with the water levels.

Even though it's cheap, once you establish a reference point, it comes in handy. I actually used it to do my drop ceiling and it came out better then I could do with a level.

Standard way to check a level it put on a surface and take a reading. Turn the level around 180º and the reading should be the same.

180 degrees is a good idea. If you got three points to shoot its better.
