drill accesaries

Are there any drill motor accesseries to use it as a hammer drill. I only have a couple of small small masonary screws to put in. The bit I bought says to use a hammer drill. My regular drill motor dose not work that well for this.

I've seen hammer drills that can work either way, but I don't know of any gizmos that make a regular drill into a hammer drill.

Why not rent a hammer drill for an hour?

Woodwright:

What size hole are you trying to drill?

A 1/4" hole for a small anchor might be dooable with a standard drill but much more and you will need a hammer drill.
If you were to start with a really small hole like maybe 3/16" and work your way up it may work with a regular drill.

One thing that sets a hammer drill apart from a regular drill is that a small hammer drill turns at much a faster rpm than a regular drill.
I have a small Makita that turns at 3000 rpm on high speed.
Most drills max out at 1200 rpm.
