Porter Cable Combo-nailer/compressor

Hi...new to the board. Hoping someone can help us out...

We are looking to buy the Porter Cable Combo set sold at Home Depot and Amazon for $299.99...It comes with compressor, finish nailer and brad nailer, and all the accessories. The model number is CFFN250N. Wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and if it is a good package.

Thanks for any help/feedback.

Thumbs up Welcome

techgal:

You should get decent service out of that outfit, especially at that price.

The only thing I would say is that if you only use the compressor for air nailer use I'm sure it would stand up.
If you try to expand your air tool horizons by using it for air tools like sanders paint sprayers or impact wrenches it is not big enough and wouldn't last long.

Here is some compressor info from the top of this forum.

I bought the Porter Cable Combo set sold at Home Depot for $299.99 and it works great for me. I haven't had it long enough to push it hard, but I know a small contractor that bought a similar PC combno package years ago and it is still going strong.

Tearflop,

A brad nailer is one that uses 18 guage or similar sized small nails that are 2" or shorter.
This type of gun is used for light finishing work and would not be usefull in building your addition.
A framing nailer that shoots from about 2" to 3 1/2 " nails may be more what you are looking for.

An assortment of nailers.

So do you think the best bet would be to get a separate compressor and add on a framing nailer and a brad for trim.

Thanks

Tear,

You could look for a combo framing nailer kit that has a nailer and compressor.
If you later add a brad nailer the compressor will be big enough.
