Cordless Drill Batteries

I have a Dewalt 18 volt Hammerdrill and I heard that the Black and Decker 18V batteries will work with it. Just curious if anyone here has tried. They are considerably less expensive then the Dewalt ones. Thanks

wazzu99,

Dewalt tools are made by B&D.

I would make sure the place you purchase the battery will let you return it if it doesn't fit.
Mind you, even if the battery fits it may not be of the same quality as DeWalt.

dewalt has xr and xr+ battery packs both are NI-CAD. The plus version I think is 2.4AH ,they brag it as the longest run time. Does the NI-CAD battery have a memory problem? Other brands say their NI-MH batteries at 3 AH are the best.
