Longer "1 1/4 hose for shop vac
I purchased a Craftsman wall mount wet/dry shop vac for my garage but need a longer suction hose. A five foot extension would be about right but then I would also need a fitting to splice both hoses together and storing the hose by coiling it around the vac might be a problem. A better solution would be to buy a new longer hose but Sears does not sell these.
Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase the "1 1/4 suction hose in an uncut length?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
barry

barry,
I forgot.
That orange hose shown in the link is actually 1 1/4".
I was in Lee Valley awhile ago and when I asked the salesman about 2 1/2" long vac hoses he showed me that hose in the catalogue.
They were out of stock but I paid for it and they shipped it to me when it arrived in the store.
Well, it seems that it actually is a 1 1/4" hose but they describe the fact that the vac connection end will fit a 2 1/2" hole in the vac.
Too bad 'cause I needed a 2 1/2" one.
If you look at it again you can see the relationship of the nozzle end to the vac end.
So, if you have a 2 1/2" connection at the vac it is what you are looking for.
It's a commercial grade hose and would stand up to years of use.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for explaining the vac hose size. Now that you mention it, I did wonder about the extra large looking ends on the hose in the picture on the web site but I wasn't curious enough to figure out that the hose was "1 1/4 and the fitting were "2 1/2.
I appreciate the info about the hose source and also the explaination.
thanks,
