Variable Speed Milwaukee Portable Bandsaw

Anyone know if it is possible to easily retrofit the variable speed trigger to a bandsaw that is not variable speed?

danski0224,

What you would need to know is if the windings could take the stress.
Power tools that use variable speed triggers have windings that can take direct current, rather than the alternating current of a recepticle.
Small variable speed controllers and light dimmers are dc output devices.
This is why you can only use incandescent light bulbs on a lamp dimmer.

You could only convert your saw if you knew it had the same windings as a vs model and if the new switch would fit in place of the regular switch.

Guess I need to find out if the motor is the same. Economies of scale should be on my side.
