What do I need to use a finishing nailer
I saw at HD a SB-1664FN - Industrial 16-Gauge Straight Finish Nailer Kit for $150 and I was about to get it, when I realized that it doesn't work by itself. It needs some kind of power. What I need to use it (except nails)? How much is a compressor ? There is any nailer that works by itself, I mean without any other accessories (powered by electricity or whatever) and be able to use 2 inch nails? Thank you.

That nailer requires a compressor. Im sure HD would have one to compliment the nailer.
Heres some more info on nail guns Air vs electric and another thread

You can often find a kit that includes nailer and compressor. For most jobs you can get an electric compressor to avoid having to use fuel to run it.

Paslode makes 16 and 18 gauge finish nail guns that are powered by a small propane cylinder and a battery. they are completely self contained and work extremely well. more ex[ensive than an air tool but no compressor and hose hassle. they also have framing nail guns that work on this same principal. its slick new technology, very convenient and very portable. I'm getting out of my air tools and moving to these. IMHO they're excellent products.

I'd recommend the Senco #PC0947 18 ga Brad nailer / compressor kit. Everything you need for $189 at http://www.amazon.com/toolcrib I have the compressor, it weighs less than 10 lbs, and is big enough to do small jobs. The brad nailer it comes with will shoot 2" nails. Maybe HD has it too?
I see that the web site above also has the Stanley Bostich nailer you referred to in a kit, with small pancake compressor and hose for $289.
