B&D Model 3052 Professional Worm Drive Circular Saw

Can anyone tell me the type and weight of gear oil used in the worm gear drive case? My saw is no longer manufactured and I want to be able to go to my local store to purchase the oil I need rather than purchasing 6 oz. of oil from DeWalt each time I need to change it. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Evidently there are two types of lubricant. One for worm gears (bronze) and one for hypoid gears (usually steel). Here's what one web site said:
Straight gear Oil for bronze wheel gear box's, as used in Rotovators and some Mowers, i.e. Rotamower and Stevens.
Hypoid gear oil will attack the bronze wheel, and is to be avoided.

I would suspect that the lubricant for the Milwaukee or Skil wormdrive saws would work with this old saw. Is price, availability or some other reason why you wish to obtain larger quantities of an equivalent lubricant for the saw? How frequently must this lubricant be changed?
