Cutting with a circular saw

If I cut a 45 degree cut in 2x lumber(for face boards on a deck) with a 7-1/4" blade will it cut all the way through?

Max. cutting capacities: at 90 2-1/2", at 45 1-5/8"

(that's the specs from a Makita 5740NB)

I assume that you are cutting a 45-degree bevel with the blade tilted 45-degrees from vertical. Most finished 2x lumber (exclusive of any warpage) is 1.5" thick when the saw base rides on the face of the board.

You might want to check your owner's manual or find the web for your particular saw. Was there some doubt that it would cut completely through the whole board?
