Exclamation *help!*Dewalt 331 Jig Saw

My husband and I have a Dewalt 331 corded jig saw and even after following all the instructions, we can't get the blade to stop going from side to side. It is impossible to make straight cuts and is endless frustrating. I think my husband is ready to throw it out the window! Does anyone have one of these and know what we are doing wrong? Please help!

There is a guide roller that should ride on the back of the blade. It is very near the bottom of the shoe. This saw has a toolless blade change feature. If the back edge of the blade does not ride in the groove of the guide roller, then it will not cut straight.
Perhaps the blade is not being held securely in the blade holder or the blade is not the correct one for this saw. "Following all the instructions" is certainly what you are doing, but it is not very helpful in trying to figure out what the problem might be.
Before you discard the saw, take it to a repair shop so that they can see what might be loose or improperly adjusted.
