Sliding Compound miter saws

I'm in need of a new one. Any suggestions? I have researched on the net from plans now reviews and can't find my wood magazine for March 2004 to get their opions.

Any thoughts and options. It would be greatly appreciated that this point.

Thanks in advance...

I have had my Hitachi c8fb since 1992 without any problems. Replaced the worn blade a couple of times and resquared the fence after lending it out to a construction job.

I would go with Bosch or Hitachi- either way you cant lose. Although Bosch is cheaper and more reliable, but both are easy to use and amazingly accurate.

I have a Bosch 10" slide that I couldn't be happier with. Out of the box it was set up perfectly, no adjustments needed. The only drawback, with any slide miter is the size and weight. While you can carry it around, it's bulky and heavy. I invested in a collapsible table with wheels. This has saved my back immensely, plus it puts the saw at the correct height at the site.
