How to remove a keyless chuck on a Makita 6095D.
Can't get the keyless chuck off of my makita 6095D. I have removed the chuck screw, but can't get the chuck itself loose. This drill does not have an electric brake that will hold the drill tightly. She is old, at least 9 years, and I am trying to refurbish her and don't want to break the drill in the process. Thanks in Advance.

I think the general procedure is to chuck something in at at a right angle (an allen wrench, for instance) and then smack the free end with a hammer or mallet to break the threads loose. BUT, you have to know FOR CERTAIN if it is left-hand or right-hand threads.
