Burnt-out motor

Hi to all!!!!

I am merrily working on a outside home project and on my last lag bolt installation, my RYOBI cordless drill kicked the bucket. It made crackling noises and went up in smoke!!!!!! Question: Is it worth the money to have the drill repaired or Can it be repaired??????

ThanKs for your response

I dont think it's worth the repair, the old 18 volts were on sale for 29 bucks this friday and the new 18 volt torque IV ones are going for 69 bucks, including 2 batteries ,charger, and drill. If your drill is under 2 years, send it back, i'm sure they will just replace it with a new one.
Edit: You can send it back if you filled out the product registration, most of Ryobi tools have a 2 year warranty.
