If your doing alot of routing, then stay away from Black&Decker, Skil and Ryobi..... They can't handle everyday use.

Porter Cable, Makita, Hitachi, Frued, Festool, all make decent routers of different prices. I run a Porter Cable and its great, but I cant recommend it over the others. They are all petty good.

Stay away from the inexpensive brands! I always say buy a tool once. Festool has to be one of the best tool manufacturers around, expensive...oh yea! but worth it. Also Metabo makes excellent power tools however their router is not yet available in the states yet.
