I am having trouble adhering the included discs to my Ridgid 6 inch double insulated orbit sander's hook an loop backing pad. Any suggestions??

If your sander is an older one, the pad can probably be replaced. Sometimes the hooks can wear out. Or maybe the loop quality of the sanding disks is not good. I have run across this before. I would try a different brand of sanding disks before replacing the pad.

Like Herm said, the hooks on your pad are probably wearing out. If you look at the hooks around the edges of the pad you'll probably find that they are getting flat and worn. This will eventually happen with a lot of use, but it's hastened by pushing down too hard on the sander, especially when you use the edge of the sander to "grind" away at something. Replacing the pad is easy if you can get parts for it.
