Question

I can't get the old saw blade off my circular saw. Whenever I try to turn the bolt in the center of the blade, the entire blade spins. What's the trick?

Cool

Ned,
Use a screwdriver stuck down between the teeth to keep the blade from turning while loosening the bolt. Good Luck!

If your saw has the blade on the left side (99% of the saws in the US) then the bolt is reverse threaded in the shaft. You may be turning it in the wrong direction. The upper end saws have a built in stop to keep the shaft from turning when loosening the bolt.

I've used a "C" clamp secured to the blade as a brake for putting them on and taking off.
