Yes, we are still mowing here!! And my mower has devoloped a problem. Now when you start it, it revs real high then almost stops. The continues to repeat the same steps over and over again. Never reving so low it stops but can not ever get revs up high enough to do any mowing. Throttle cable is set for the rabbit or high and fresh gasoline has been used. Any help?

Hi
an
Based on the problem discription posted, I would think the engine is fuel starving do to either a fuel flow restriction or carb problem.
Try this: Remove the fuel tank cap and see if this corrects the condition. If it does, the fuel cap has a restricted vent. If nothings changes, the fuel restriction could be in the tank, fuel line or carb.
Also verify the throttle cable does in fact slide the carb throttle linkage all the way open when set to fast speed.
Since the engine starts and runs fast at the initial starting then slows down in speed, sounds like the fuel level in the carb drops too low thus fuel starving the engine.
Good Luck,
