DIY Small engine maintenance
Do any women around here (or any women you know, if you're of the male persuasion) do their own small-engine maintenance?
I find that, although I'm fearless about nearly every other sort of do-it-yourselfing, even when I have no idea what I'm doing, I look at an engine and just go blank. I love being self-reliant and capable, but in this one area, I don't even know how to begin.
Is that article a good one for getting started?

It's a good article, but small engine maintenance will be the same, no matter the gender of the maintainer. I know many males that drive cars and never check their oil while they are fueling them. Sounds simple, but could save an engine. Some of them don't even know where the hood release is. Small engine maintenance is the same as your car engine, only smaller. And, as always, if you get stumped, we're here to help.

I was once afraid of the small engine. I signed up for a smal engine course at the local high school and learned a lot. The course was cheap and I learned the basics for working on any engine.
