Ryobi 10" Miter Saw (lock pin stuck)

Ok... im new to miter saws.

Cant find the model, but looks exactly like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Factory-Recond.../dp/B0015IS1SO
.

On the right side at the joint where the arm goes up, there is a long metal "lock pin" that has to be pulled out to release the lever upward to cut. I cannot remove it. I tried some WD40... tried to wrench it left/right... its rusted in there good.

Any advice?
Thanks,

WD 40 basically disperses water. You need a penetrating lubricant such as liquid wrench to loosen the pin. Also, you have to press down on the carriage relieving the pressure on the pin in order for it to pull out easily.

Thanks.. will give the Liquid Wrench a shot.
This thing is in there good though. I was letting down on it so the pin wasnt locked against anything, just rusted in pretty good... thanks for the advice.. will let you know how it goes.

Thanks.... I didnt think the Liquid Wrench would do it since it was stuck so tight.. but I loosened the motor cover with a bolt and applied the liquid wrench to both ends and with some added brute force and it came free. Thanks for the tip... will keep Liquid Wrench on-hand from now on!
