who makes it for Craftsman
Anyone have an idea who makes the compressors for Craftsman? Have an issue with a compressor that I have only used four times (once a year to pump up tires). By looking at it one would think it was brand new but the unit crapped the bed this fith time....motor was overheating so I unplugged it. Sears wants $260 to repair a unit that cost me $199. Common sense would suggest that something is very wrong, maybe a part that was just not well made, whatever but Sears wants nothing to do with it except get me to ok a repair. I think the manufacturer should be involved to at least get some answers as to why it would fail after four uses.
If anyone has an address or whatever, I would greatly appreciate it. Always appreciate DIY imput.

You never know who could be making merchandise for retailers. It is just made to the retailers specs and if there are problems the manufacturer is dropped.
Sears does not want to get involved in a hassel between you and a supplier.
If you can find someone that is familiar with compressors, they might be able to give you an idea of who makes them for Sears. Often, branded products are copies or knock-offs of a name brand manufacturer that do not want the public to associate the Sears price/product with their "name brand" products. If you get a lead on the manufacturer and a product number, you may be able to buy the parts and fix it yourself.
